A Heck of a Week!

This past week started awesome!  On Monday, Anthony and I both had snow days and it continued throughout the week!  Yahoo!  Who doesn't love a snow day, or a snow week for that matter?  Even the pups got into the action and would play outside! Unfortunately, our happy week hit a heck of a snag with the overflowing of a toilet, the flooding of a basement, and the knowledge that our septic system was a mess that was going to cost a pretty expensive penny...  Ah, the joys of home ownership.

To pass the time we worked on the nursery.  Well, Anthony, worked hard on the nursery.  He has built the furniture, put together the closet, and hung the curtains.  He was a very busy Daddy-in-practice this week!

the gray you see is the disintegrated concrete pipe of the septic system (which lead to the flooding)

my favorite piece- a tall changing table!

this toy chest was Anthony's when he was a little boy!
his Pepe, paternal grandfather, made it for him!
the lighting was awful when I took these pics (7am) so this is
the only picuture I could get with both curtains.

As you can tell, lots of things still need to be done to the nursery.  We are waiting on the glider, which is more of a comfy recliner/glider mix, it was special ordered a few weeks ago.  Letter blocks for Henry's name need to be picked out, lamps need to be bought, and half a dozen other little things need to be completed as well.  I will keep everyone posted on our progress.

A Quick Update & Belly Pictures

Anthony and I are both doing well.  The little guy is doing great!  Growing and kicking and making us smile every single day.  We finally agreed on Henry's middle name.  Our son's name will be Henry David Fluet! We each were blessed to have a grandfather named Henry that we were close to growing up and we both love Henry and/or Hank, whichever he prefers.  David is my fathers name and I have always loved it, and since Anthony loves me, he loves it too!

We've started on the nursery.  After some constuction difficulties (holes weren't predrilled correctly) and the arrival of placement pieces all the furniture is constructed.  A few things left to do: Anthony will be putting in a ClosetMaid organizing system , we are awaiting the arrival of the glider, curtains need to be put up, books need to be placed on the shelves, and a few other odds and ends and then nursery will be set up! Once we have a bit more done I will post some pictures of the room.

The two belly pictures are great of my belly and pretty bad of the rest of me (horrible lighting), but y'all know what I look like so just don't look at my head.  :)

It's a BOY!!!!

Anthony and I went to the doctor's office Friday, November 12, 2010 to learn if we were having a little boy or a little girl.  I've felt for a while it was a little boy, while it seemed everyone else thought it would be a girl... Needless to say, we are THRILLED!!  Henry (something or another) Fluet is expected to arrive April 7, 2010.  I've got a feeling he won't wait that long!  Well, here he is!!!

Bedding!!!

Anthony and I picked out the bedding last week.  Jungle Friends!  We decided to go with something very gender neutral that we could alter or accessorize for each baby (Lord willing, there will be more to come!!)   It's super simple, so we will be adding lots and lots of Monkeys to brighten it up.

Furniture!

This afternoon Anthony and I went out to purchase baby furniture!  I've been looking at nursery sets for a while and I found a set that we both liked.  It is chocolate, with a crib that converts into a full size bed, a dresser, and a changing table.  I love the changing table best.  It is tall, which will require less bending over as we change the little one.  It is the highest of all changing that I found, with open shelving for baskets and clothes and such.  Just what we wanted!
